  • A container of oil- or water-based polyurethane. A foam brush or paint brush. Sandpaper (320 grit or higher) To start off the application process, lay down a tarp or similar surface to keep your working area clean. Make sure to wipe down your board and keep it clean of debris before beginning to apply your poly.
  • Dry with a clean cloth. Applying polyurethane will make them somewhat waterproof, plus harden the box. Buff out scuffs to keep your floor looking clean and shiny. The upper is all polyurethane, and I'm already getting a significant crack along the top of the right boot that threatens the waterproof-ness.
  • Get rid of all the acrylic on the body, especially at the edges and arcs. You might even need to additionally sand the surface using a fine grit sandpaper. Ensure that the body is completely fine on both sides, and then wipe away the sawdust from the surface.
  • Jul 01, 2015 · A polyurethane roller isn't going to allow for much traction so I don't think there is a big issue in bonding the roll to the steel core. I also don't think there is a adhesive that will do the trick because of the slick polyurethane. My thought would be several roll pins shoved through the roll and the inner axle.
  • The most common complaint against polyurethane is that it "looks like plastic." Well, the chemical structure (when dry) is very close to plastic, but the reason some people get that idea is from being told that a certain piece of furniture, such as a restaurant table top, is coated with polyurethane, when in fact, it isn't.
  • Mix a small amount of tint into the silicone, if color is desired. Mix the silicone rubber components together in a bucket according to the directions. Place the mold on the floor. Pour the silicone slowly into the mold, holding the mixing bucket as high as you can.
